Pseudonymous, not untraceable

The site does not require your real name, and your pseudonym is the only identifier other users see. However, an account requires a working email address, and we log IP addresses to fight abuse. Anonymity towards other users does not mean anonymity before the law.

What we collect

• Email address (account verification, password reset, notice of moderation decisions)
• Password hash (never the plain password)
• IP address and browser info for these events: signup, login, posting, commenting, reporting
• The content you post and your votes

Why, and on what basis

The legal basis for IP logs is legitimate interest (GDPR 6(1)(f)): abuse prevention, ban-evasion prevention, and the ability to respond to lawful requests from competent authorities. The basis for email processing is contract (providing the account).

Retention

• IP logs: 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically
• Sessions: at most 30 days from last use
• Content: until you delete it or your account

Account deletion

When you delete your account, your email and login data are erased and your posts are attributed to [poistettu] (“deleted”) instead of your pseudonym. Post content is preserved so that discussion threads and the moderation audit trail stay intact — this is necessary for the site’s legitimate interests and legal obligations.

Third parties

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Data is disclosed only on a lawful request from a competent authority.
